Dr. Tilak Silva, a fully qualified MBBS medical doctor with postgraduate qualifications, brings extensive experience from both the public and private health sectors in Sri Lanka and abroad. Despite his successful career in general medicine, Dr. Silva has undertaken the challenge of providing exceptional elder care services in Sri Lanka.
After completing primary and secondary education at Maris Stella College, Negombo, and D.S. Senanayake College, Colombo, respectively, I pursued my MBBS degree, graduating in 1991. I joined the Health Services Department of Sri Lanka, serving as a Medical Doctor in Chilaw and Negombo hospitals, gaining extensive experience across various medical and surgical departments.
In my pursuit of further expertise, I obtained Post Graduate qualifications in Family Medicine and General Medical practice from the Post Graduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo. From the year 2000, I have been engaged in full-time medical practice at Jude Medicare – Seeduwa.
Throughout my career, I have held esteemed positions in different academic bodies, including the Independent Medical Practitioners Association and the College of the General Practitioners Association. Additionally, I have been an active member of the Respiratory Group of Doctors in Sri Lanka.
Outside of my medical endeavors, I am committed to community service as an active member of the Lion’s Club, spearheading numerous social and health programs for the less fortunate.
On a personal note, I am happily married to Shymali and am blessed with three children who are pursuing their higher education in Sri Lanka and abroad.
